Chapter 12 : Meaning in the Creation of God

Meaning in the Creation of God

Each living organism has been created for a purpose.

Once Prophet Sulaiman had a thought which probably would occur to us as well.

We often see some of the rich getting richer and living the life of royalty inspite of engaging in immoral and illegal activities.

At the same time some of the poor would be suffering more and more and getting themselves into an increasing levels of poverty inspite of doing good deeds.

The business activities of the poor would fail while the business activities of the rich would thrive and provide heaps of profits.

Prophet Sulaiman pondered on these and was confused. “Why is the situation almost a paradox? Why would the Merciful Lord do this?”

He walked on the beach every day saying to himself “I need clarity on this”.

One fine day he declared with a firm determination “I would not enter my home till I get an answer for this” and kept walking on the beach.

Prophet Sulaiman saw a man with a small jug/ pot fetching water from the sea and throwing it on the sand.

Prophet Sulaiman asked the man “What are your intentions in fetching the sea water and throwing it on the sand?”

The man explained “The sea is big. It will be drained dry by removing all the water from it. Then all the fish in it can be caught and consumed. The pearls and corals can be taken and worn, sold in trade and I could become rich”.

When prophet Sulaiman listened to this explanation he laughingly commented “How big is this sea! Your jug is too small. How can you empty the wide deep sea with your small jug? Is this even possible?”

Immediately the man asked “How big is the divine knowledge of God! Your knowledge is too small. You trying to understand the purpose and secret of God’s creation using your limited knowledge is more difficult…. Me trying to empty the sea water using a small mug and catching the fish and taking the pearls and coral is much easier”.

Now prophet Sulaiman understood

“How wide is the knowledge of God! His actions have some reasons”.

Regarding this Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 verse 15 “Some appear to follow this religion and to turn away from it. They say and make mockery of it and plan. I will plan better … Also, I will let you sin. You will meet your punishment”.

When God lets these rich live immorally, acquire more wealth and withhold from spending charitably and they die in such a state, He would ask them “I had given you so much wealth. why didn’t you utilise this wealth in a good way?” and punish them.

The rich who earned money in unethical businesses would be subjected to questioning in Hell.

The poor who held on to their faith in God, did good deeds and  lived with integrity inspite of their sufferings in this world will be rewarded with the greatest rewards by God.

Without understanding we whine why are so and so enjoying.. why so and so are suffering..

As mentioned in the holy Quran

The knowledge of God is great. If all the waters of the sea were to be used as ink and all the trees of the world were to be used as pen the knowledge of God cannot be written down.

We are not capable of understanding the secret purpose of God’s creation.

God doesn’t create without any purpose or reason. Even the creation of an ant has a purpose.

Faith in God is a rung by which God would elevate our position.
